Levitra (vardenafil) is a medication for treating erectile dysfunction (male impotence). It works by relaxing the smooth muscles of blood vessels thereby allowing more blood to flow to the penis leading to a sturdy erection. Levitra may be used for purposes not mentioned in this guide.
How to Use
Don’t take Levitra (vardenafil) without first talking to your doctor. Your doctor needs to know all the medications you are currently using as well as your medical history.
- Kidney or liver problems

- Stomach ulcers
- History of heart attack or stroke in the past six months

Always use Levitra (vardenafil) as prescribed. Don’t take larger or smaller doses than recommended. You can take the tablets with food or on an empty stomach.
The starting dose is typically 10mg per day. The dose can either be decreased afterwards to 5mg or increased to 20mg. This will depend on the tolerance of the patient as well as the effectiveness. Persons using an alpha blocker or over 65 years of age take the 5mg dose.
Take Levitra (vardenafil) 60 minutes before engaging in sexual activity. You will get an erection after 30 minutes but only after sexual stimulation. You will feel the effects for 4hours. Never take more than one dose in a day.

Levitra is not indicated for use in women and children. It is, however, not expected to harm an unborn baby. It is not known if the active ingredients can be passed into breast milk and if they can cause harm to a nursing baby.

Contact your doctor if you have an erection that lasts for over 4 hours. You should also contact your doctor if you have a painful erection. A prolonged erection will damage your penis.
Seek emergency medical attention if you experience nausea, numbness, dizziness, pain or tingling in your chest, arms, neck or jaw during sex. These may be signs serious side effects or serious health problems.
Severe side effects are common in patients over the age of 50 and those that smoke.
